Questions your pharmacist can answer

Before starting a new medication, consider asking your pharmacist the following questions:

1. How often must I take the medication, and what time of day should it be taken?
   
   
2. What should I do if I miss taking my medicine as directed?
   
   
3. Should the medicine be taken with food or on an empty stomach?
   
   
4. What foods, drinks, or activities should be avoided while taking the medicine?
   
   
5. Will a refill be needed?
   
   
6. What is the best way to store the medicine?
   
   
7. What side effects should I expect?
   
   
8. Could this medicine interact with other medications I am taking?
   
   
9. Is it safe to be pregnant or breastfeeding while I am on the medicine?
   
   
10. Are there any special instructions I need to know?
