At Deseret Mutual we respect your privacy. That's why we no longer use your Social Security number to identify you (except when communicating financial information to the federal government). Instead, we use a number that's specific to you: your Deseret Mutual identification number.

To make the most of your coverage, it's important to use your new identification number correctly. So here's some information to help.

When You Must Use Your Deseret Mutual ID

  • At your doctor's office if you're enrolled in Deseret Choice, Deseret Select, Deseret Premier or Deseret Value

  • At the dentist's office if you're eligible for Deseret Mutual dental benefits.

  • To log on to the secured portion of this Web site.

  • At your local pharmacy to purchase prescriptions through Medco Health. If you don't have your Deseret Mutual ID number, your pharmacist can either call us or Medco Health to obtain the number.

  • Any time you call Deseret Mutual to access your personal information.

When You Don't Need to Use Your Deseret Mutual ID Number

  • If you're enrolled in a contracted health maintenance organization (HMO), you'll use the number assigned by your HMO. (To access information about other benefits administered by Deseret Mutual, you will use your Deseret Mutual ID number.)

  • At the dentist's office if you're eligible for MetLife dental benefits. Use your Social Security number instead.
