Personal
Shon was born in Washington, D.C., and left the East Coast with his family as a young boy to live in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.
After traveling extensively over the first 20 years of his life, Shon settled in Utah where he currently lives with his wife and
four children. Shon studied foreign language translation and family history research early in his career, but also always harbored
a passion for personal finance—a passion that later blossomed into a career at DMBA.
He enjoys playing tennis and chess with his young children. Shon’s family actively serves and volunteers in the local Latino community
and they adhere to a “Spanish-only” rule at home where Shon strives to teach his children the same values of learning foreign languages and
cultures that blessed his life as a young boy.
